Jeanne Amato | January Thaw (limited edition woodcut print)
January Thaw is a Vermont made woodcut print handmade by Jeanne Amato, a long time apprentice and studio assistant of Sabra Field. You can see the parallels between their Vermont inspired work fairly easily. This print shows a beautiful scene of Jeanne's favorite birch trees and hardwoods along the snowy banks of a creek. In Vermont, we often have what is called a "January Thaw" when temperatures increase and once frozen streams and rivers flow again.
