I made a very popular stop for tourists to catchup on the latest activites in town.
I created a visitors center with an inviting seating area, cork walls for pinning up items, walls and display cabinets to show off art and products represented in the town. People can sit by the by the fire, plan their day and hook up to the wifi. TV monitors showing local activities play regularly and are surrounded by brochure racks. Tourists still love hard copies showing things to do. The floors are a warm rich reclaimed pine. The main reception counter serviced by a people is very inviting. The front panels have natural birch branches imbedded in resin. They are backlit to show off the stunning panels. With the left over birch material from the reception desk, I inserted panels in the window openings between the offices and the main lobby. It took a lot of work for me to convince the direction of the center to go with the panels, since the material was so new and different. I assured them though unusual, the birch was perfect for representing the mountain resort. The whole renovation proved to be a winner
