Order soon! Twilight Village by William Hays is a 15-color, 12x9 linoleum block, linocut print from a limited edition of 100.
This print depicts the last light of the evening before darkness, this hour of twilight births unique natural colors as sunset comes to a close seen in the brilliant blue-green gradient in the sky. The bluffs which border the river on the Vermont side offer views over the frozen ribbon and down onto the town, as with many others along its course.
“The Connecticut River runs through my hometown in Vermont, freezing over each winter. The last glow of the day offers a range of possibilities which change with each evening. My choice of the yellow-green for the sky was influenced by the New England artist, Maxfield Parrish who lived just north of my home. The bluffs which border the river on the Vermont side offer views over the frozen ribbon and down onto the town, as with many others along it's course. In 2022 this print won "Best In Show" in a national juried exhibition called "The Winter Palette" at the Kavanagh Gallery in St. Charles, Illinois.” ~ William Hays
This archival print in the edition is an original work of art and there are slight variations from one print to the next.
