Silver Seasons Botanical Jewelry Collection

Michael's Silver Seasons collection began in 1991 with a handful of designs. Each piece is hand crafted and cast from actual plants, using a technique similar to lost-wax casting. Instead of carving a mold, Michael uses an actual leaf, branch or flower in place of the wax model. As the mold is heated, the plant matter burns away, leaving behind a beautiful and exquisite mold of itself. He accentuates each piece with soft patinas on bronze accented with pearls, beads, coral and stones. Real greenery, flowers, fruits, vegetables, nuts, bark and herbs are copied and made into jewelry.

Michael became an expert at making and manipulating molds at the School for American Crafts at Rochester Institute of Technology. There are several design variations within each botanical collection including bracelets, earrings, necklaces and pins.
